The concept behind Bombshell was to recognise and celebrate female contributions during World War II. Taking a feminist approach we encouraged and applauded Nancy Wake for her valiant dedication to fighting for Justice. Inspired by ‘Girl power’ and her paradoxical personality, we reincarnated Nancy’s voice for our Tone Of Voice. Nancy Wake was glamorous, feminine, fouled mouthed and cheeky, yet honourable and fearless. We were inspired by her no nonsense attitude and quotes to help narrate the exhibition. Inspired by her contribution to suceeding in the war; that was largely helped by her been female, we were encouraged to inform audiences of female strength.
